In classrooms filled with curiosity and laughter, Bright Beginnings Nurseries in Abu Dhabi are redefining what early childhood education can look like. Their mission has always been clear: to nurture the whole child, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. In Spring 2023, they took that mission one step further through a partnership with Peekapak, a research-wellbeing program aligned with the ADEK Wellbeing Framework.
Learning Through Stories
Over a six week pilot, educators at three Bright Beginnings branches introduced Peekapak’s interactive stories and activities into daily routines. The program’s relatable characters and storylines gave young learners a way to explore big feelings in small, safe steps. Teachers noticed something remarkable almost immediately.
“They asked me every single day, ‘Can we please do Peekapak today?’” shared one educator.
Building Emotional Foundations
Through storytelling, students began recognizing and naming their emotions, learning to cooperate in groups, and persevering through challenges. Teachers described noticeable shifts in classroom dynamics—students were more empathetic, more patient, and more connected.
Feedback from educators was resoundingly positive:
- 100% found Peekapak easy to use
- 100% said their students enjoyed it
- 89% rated the program positively overall
“Peekapak opened up conversations that we’ve never had before,” said Ms. Delight, a Bright Beginnings teacher. “It gave us the opportunity to discuss all those feelings.”
Looking Ahead
Bright Beginnings’ success story highlights a powerful truth: wellbeing begins early. With Peekapak, even the youngest learners can start developing the empathy, collaboration, and resilience they’ll need for the future.
